Ford GT500 Carbon Fiber Packages
Straight from the showroom floor, the GT500 is at the top of the Ford Mustang line-up. It comes with a range of unique bodywork, such as an extra-large grille opening, a vented hood, a deep front spoiler, and a rear spoiler with a Gurney flap.
Additionally, buyers can choose between three factory-fitted carbon fiber packages to make it even more impressive.
Firstly, the top-of-the-range Carbon Fiber Track package comes with a bunch of features to make your GT500 go faster. These include an unmistakable GT4 track wing, 20-inch wheels, exposed carbon instrument panel, adjustable strut top mounts, and other weight-saving add-ons. It also comes with a hefty price tag - roughly 25% of the base price.
On the other hand, the Handling package only includes the splitter wickers and a Gurney flap.
The mid-range Carbon Fiber Handling package combines elements from both kits but keeps all the cool bits. It enables front suspension adjustments and adds improved aerodynamics with a Gurney flap and splitter wicker.
Now, you can get carbon fiber accessories to take things up a notch and add another level of customization and performance.

New Ford Performance Accessories
The new parts are different than those included in any of the three factory-applied packages. During a track event at the Texas International Speedway, Ford debuted a GT500 fitted with the new accessories. It's the perfect finishing touch for any carbon fiber fanatic.
A front bumper trim piece that separates the upper and lower sections of the grille will set you back $1,150.
A carbon fiber rain tray and hood vent, for $1,185, replaces the regular ABS plastic hood vent.
You can also get a new front splitter with SHELBY embossed lettering and a belly pan as a bundle for $1,850.
Finally, the rear decklid trim panel costs $575.
Notably, the Carbon Fiber Track package doesn't include these parts.
Ford GT500 Carbon Fiber Edge
While carbon fiber adds a sleek finish and an added element of personalization, you gain so much more from the new accessories.
The parts offer small weight savings, but a little can go a long way when it comes to performance. For instance, the carbon fiber front splitter is 4 pounds lighter than the stock components. Moreover, the rain tray and vent shave off another 4 pounds. Overall, the four parts can save 9 pounds for $4,730.
It doesn't sound like much. But considering Nissan decided not to paint the hood of the latest GT-R to save 3.5 ounces, put things in perspective.
These parts are the perfect way to complement a Shelby GT500. Whether for aesthetics or performance, the new carbon fiber parts provide a sublime, track-proven look from every angle.
