I definitely recommend this lighter and company
My daily driver is a M-Benz CLA250 (C117) trimmed with carbon fiber on both the outside as well as the inside. I’ve replaced as many OEM PARTS with carbon fiber pieces as I’ve been able to find with more coming soon. A few months ago when my wife first told me about carbonfibergear.com two of the first pieces to make my “must-have” list was the Lamborghini lighter and the Porsche lighter. I’m a car enthusiast, to be sure, as well as a cigar aficionado and a daily smoker. Grabbing those 2 pieces was only natural. However, the Porsche lighter was sold out and so I “joined the list” (for the Porsche humidor as well). The Lamborghini lighter was available and so I made that purchase. I have to say, like a Lamborghini that lighter is gorgeous, feels good to the touch, has a relatively smooth action, and will burn you if you’re not careful. I was using the Lambo lighter fairly regularly for cigarettes as well as cigar smoking in the garage (the designated smoking areas are garage and patio at our house.) Just before was notified the Porsche lighter was available I started noticing the Lambo was having some issues and not being as dependable as it had been. So the minute I found out the Porsche was in stock I moved on it hoping it would give me a chance to put the Lambo “in the shop.” When it arrived, I couldn’t wait. I immediately filled it with some high altitude butane (we live in the high desert in NM), taking notice of its size and shape as well as the striking design. It’s a beautiful lighter with nice clean lines and the high gloss CF really pops. I’ve never seen a lighter with this type of “exhaust”, if you will. The exit port for the flame is a small rectangular slit on the top and I was a little skeptical at first, if I’m honest. However, how pleasantly surprised I was when the flame, which is only barely noticeable just as it’s exiting the lighter, exited with the kind of force you would expect from a Porsche. The single burner flame is thin but wide and definitely gets a cigarette lit instantly and a cigar with only a slight increase of the +/- dial in less time than some lesser double and triple flame lighters. The mechanism for striking is extremely easy to pull and moves so smoothly I was almost afraid I might break it at first. After a couple of successful cigarettes lit though, I had the hang of it and was absolutely thrilled! The dependability of this lighter is, in my opinion, one of its strongest selling points. Because the dependability of the Lambo lighter was beginning to fade it has been garaged and is awaiting a trip to the shop for a tune-up. However, the Porsche is performing as one would expect a Porsche to perform. It’s lighting every time, with the perfect amount of gusto. It’s looking great, feeling great, handling great and has found it’s way to my pocket to be the go-to for all smoking. If you’re a smoker, you know how frustrating it is to have a great looking lighter that you break out in front of everyone to light up only to have it click repeatedly while you attempt to get it lit. It’s like stalling out (back when manual transmissions were a thing lol) in front of everyone in a dope ride and not being able to get it started again. This is NOT THAT lighter. Do yourself a favor, quit staring at the price point and reading this review and throw this lighter in your cart and get checked out so you can have your own to see what I mean. You will NOT be upset that you spent the money or that you now own your very own Porsche. This thing out performs every lighter I’ve ever owned in my 25+ years of smoking…. (To include Zippos, Vectors, Xikars, Colibris, ST. Duponts and a few other high end lighters). I love this thing!! (***side note*** the Lambo lighter is still an awesome lighter that I think i may have just not been as careful with as I should have…so I say get one of each….but if you can only choose one Porsche wins this one in a head to head.
It's a very nice lighter design wise. overall good quality and built as Porsche Design company would do with any of their product in term of quality. the only thing that could perhaps annoy anybody is the fact that it gets hot on the upper side if used twice or thrice in a row.
